I will help you to discover your passion, identify your talents and abilities and have greater confidence in your personal or professional life. This will help you feel happier, more content with yourself, as you will have a feeling of self-empowerment and self-worth.

We will work together, in a step by step approach, to align your true values in your daily life, and this will encourage your personal growth and development, to a stage where you will be happier every day and feel more fulfilled.

We will identify those areas where you may feel that you would like to make better decisions and you will back yourself up with the courage to fulfill your new resolutions. In doing so, you will improve your relationships with others and help navigate your way with any challenges in dating, and finding love, thereby enabling you to find true love. We will work together on relationship development skills and making healthy lifestyle choices, through positive thinking and taking steps forward to achieve true health, in body, mind and spirit.

This should help you release stress and improve your quality of lifestyle, as by doing the same thing as you did yesterday, may not be producing the results you want.

Living a Healthy, Balanced Life

The wisdom of the Torah, which was given over 3000 years ago, predates modern science.

Yet, the secrets to a healthy lifestyle are already shared with us by Moses in his last will and testament, in the Torah Portion of Va’eschanan in Deuteronomy. In Chapter 4 verse 15, it states: “Look after yourselves very well… .” The commentaries stop on this verse to explain the depth of its meaning. The Rambam, otherwise known at Maimonides, lived over 850 years ago. He was a philosopher, a doctor and writer, penning many books on Jewish faith and traditions. He writes: Having a totally healthy body is among the paths of serving G-d, for it is impossible to have understanding or knowledge of G-d when one is sick. Therefore, a person must distance himself from things that harm the body.” The Rambam stresses how having a healthy body is among the paths of serving G-d. When one is well, they can focus more easily on Knowledge of G-d, and his holy Torah. We should not take our health for granted, and thank Hashem daily for His infinite wisdom in creating our very life and giving us lifeforce. When we are healthy we have more time to focus on spirituality and  can also help others to connect to Hashem, G-d.

So much of physical health depends on spiritual health, the healthier the spirit, and the greater its preponderance over the physical body, the greater its ability to overcome physical shortcomings.

This is so true, that even medical treatments are more effective if they are partnered with the patient’s determination and will to be healthy.

So how should you attempt to “look after yourselves very well?”
  • Exercise daily to promote lots of energy and for reducing stress. You also get to interact with beautiful scenery, when walking or exercising in a our wondrous natural environment
  • Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts (and some real dark chocolate)
  • Look after your mental health with regular breaks and time away from the daily stresses of life
  • Balance your life with good friends, and a loving family
  • Make sure to pray to a Higher Power, Hashem, every day for support and gratitude for your life
  • Count your blessings daily
  • Do good deeds for others, you will feel so good about yourself
  • Study Torah daily to keep your mind connected to Hashem’s wisdom

Feel free to add a few ideas of your own. Bottom line, if we look after ourselves, we will better be able to look after our families, friends and the world around us.

3 Keys to Happiness – Daily

It doesn’t take a whole new routine to instill a dose of happiness into your day—but it does take a little self awareness.

1. Be grateful for the good & the bad.

Research shows, grateful people are happy people. It’s also important to understand that happiness is not the absence of negative feelings. Gratitude is a focus on the present and appreciation for what we have now, rather than wanting more. Embracing gratitude, as a state of mind, can have a positive affect on all aspects of life including our happiness and overall satisfaction.

Up your mood by taking a moment daily to think of your world with gratitude. Start a gratitude journal or take a walk in nature paying attention to all the gifts around us. Think of a person that helps you on a daily or weekly basis – a spouse, parent, friend, pet, teacher, cleaner, or babysitter.

2. Flex your creativity muscles.

Do you have a passion or hobby? It doesn’t have to be a formal activity, simply engaging in creative thinking can enhance well-being by enhancing cognitive flexibility and problem-solving abilities. A recent study out of New Zealand, published in The Journal of Positive Psychology explains that creative activities can trigger an “upward spiral” of well-being.

“Practicing an art — no matter how well or badly — is a way to make your soul grow. So do it.” – Kurt Vonnegut.

Make some space in your day to create, even if it’s just for the sake of it. Try exploring unique textures or even natural and recycled materials to make something for your home or a friend. 3. Get connected, Stay connected.

Being apart of something larger than yourself can help bring perspective as well as a sense of belonging. Scientific evidence strongly suggests that feeling like you belong and generally feel close to other people is a core psychological need; essential to feeling satisfied with your life. The pleasures of social life register in our brains much the same way physical pleasure does.

So take the time to nurture a friendship that is important to you. Make an extra effort to show you care, send a card, make a plan to have lunch, or give them a call and really listen to what they say. Smile and say hello to a stranger. Tell a story when someone asks how your day is going. Notice how you feel when you share something with someone new.
